Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I am taking part in Ironman Austriahttp://www.ironmanaustria.at/en.htm) this year on July 13th. For anyone that does not know it involves a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run. These are completed one after the other as quickly as possible. There are cut off times for each event, these are 2 hours 20 minutes for the swim, 8 hours for the bike and 17 hours total which is the last cut off point. If you miss a cut off time you can not continue. For a better explanation of what the Ironman entails please see the youtube clip.

This will be my first Ironman event and I have been training intensely for the last 6 months in preparation.  My grandad (Geoff Atthowe) had heart problems including a triple heart bypass, sadly he passed away aged 80. As a result I have chosen to support the British Heart Foundation. The reason being that they fund both research and help so many people who are suffering from heart problems.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Heart Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
