Help A CFM Child- The New Balance Great Cumbrian Run · 19 October 2008 ·

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.

Story

Who says Fat Boys cant run!!

I have stupidly agreed to take part in this years Cumbrian Run (half marathon) on the Sunday 19th October. I am currently 14 stone of pure fat and the furthest I have ran over the last few years is 6.2 miles (Gosforth 10k) so this will be quite an acheivement for me. Having been roped into this (Cheers Rob) I thought it would be worthwhile doing this for a charity.  The sick Childrens Trust helped my sister and her husband through the difficult birth of their twins Joshua and Joseph born at 27 weeks with Twin to Twin Syndrome.  This was the most distressing time of their lives and The Sick Childrens Trust (Crawford House) allowed them to stay for free, over a 3 month period within minutes of the twins. Without this organisation I dont know how they would have got through it!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Sick Children's Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
