Right now, millions of children are in danger. They face violence, disease, hunger and the chaos of war and disaster. Unicef ensures more children get life-saving food, vaccinations, education and protection than anyone else. With your help, we can build a safer world for children. unicef.org.uk

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Those of you who know me will already think i am MAD but i intend to complete this challenge and raise money for Inspiring Young Minds Brazil, BT’s global charity programme with children’s organisation UNICEF.

The trek is part of a year-long fundraising drive for Inspiring Young Minds Brazil which aims to raise £140K in support of sports projects in disadvantaged communities in three Brazilian cities which use sport as the means to engage with young people.

The trek takes place over 6 days in March, over undulating ground with very little "flat" sections for 125km - literally up mountains, wading through rivers, swimming in waterfalls, clearing our way through jungle paths..........and even trekking through a 376m cave............oh.....and sleeping in tents in between !

SO PLEASE PLEASE give generously

I want to thank you all for sponsoring me - particularly FREESTONE CREATIVE who were first off the mark with a corporate sponsorship, thanks very much guys - appreciate it (www.freestonecreative.co.uk)

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: UNICEF UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

If you are a taxpayer, any donation made to charity on which tax has been paid comes under the Gift Aid scheme. When you make your donation, the charity will then claim the tax back, which means they can do more with your money. charities are entitled to 28% tax reclaim from the Inland Revenue in every £1 donated by taxpayers. For example a gift of £100 would be increased to £128 through Gift Aid.
