We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

My name is Andrew Forbes and I am going to be doing a John o Groats to Lands End (JOGLE) Trip in aid of the Alzhiemer's Society which does such good work with people who suffer from Alzheimer’s and Dementia.  I am sure everyone who reads this knows or knew someone who has been affected by this cruel, personality stripping disease.  I sadly lost my grandad to Alzheimer’s in 2003 and this is why I have chosen to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society.

I have always wanted to do a JOGLE run and since I will be leaving school in mid June and starting at University in September I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do it.  My dad Graham will be accompanying me on the trip and we will share the driving between us due to the long distances involved.

Our JOGLE trip will begin on the 27th of June this year and we plan to make it to Lands End by the 1st of July.  The run will be roughly 900 miles so it will be a good test of my 17 year old Mini which we are going to using for the run.  We are going to try and use as many B-roads as possible to take in some more interesting sights that Britain has to offer.

So please donate as much or as little as you can for this excellent cause.

Thank you for reading

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
