Story

Hi,

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

There are occasions in life when you agree to something that you may regret later.  Prompted by my visit to Cuba I have agreed to take part in this year's Cycle Cuba Challenge.  This is a physical activity and the route is approximately 365 km.  There are 5 cycling days and 1 day's trekking.  There are several hills to climb and this is also under the hot Cuban sun.  For a novice like myself, who is also recovering from a recent hernia repair operation, this will be hard going but very rewarding, particularly since the cycle challenge will be carrying educational material purchased with the money direct to a school for visually impaired children in Havana.

Monies raised will go to the Music Fund for Cuba www.musicfundforcuba.org.uk who purchase essential educational and musical equipment for Cuban school children. This is a registered charity (Reg 1096283) supported by the Cuba Solidarity Campaign and was first established in memory of Kirsty MacColl in 2001.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Music Fund For Cuba will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
