My personal message:

Well that seemed to go OK.

I'm not sure whether my tactic of not looking at maps paid off. On the one hand, I wasn't put off by the size of the task: on the other, I had to believe people when they exhorted, "keep going, it's just around the corner" or "this is literally the last hill before Newhaven". But if they'd told the truth? Pouf! Le resultat, c'est le meme chose.

So anyway, I did it. It was hard work and Saturday was brutal, especially when the sun came out on the Parisian hills (hills? I thought that was just Montmartre). But I enjoyed myself, met some lovely people and (at the aftershow party) won the King of the Mountains shirt. This was on the basis that, as far as I was concerned, anything that wasn't actually downhill qualified as a mountain.

I'll put a bunch of photos on my Fotopic site over the next few days. and I understand LCD will do the same. I'll let you know. But thank you all for your support. C'etait magnifique!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leonard Cheshire Disability will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
