Hello, thank for for visiting my fundraising page. Like many of you perhaps in the past i have laid there on the sofa  watching the London marathon and thought...that could me! Or at least mentioned out loud in the pub after a few ales, that  a marathon is on the wish list of things to accomplish.

I am not a natural runner, indeed in many ways i am totally unsuitable to this type of event. However, call it a mid life crisis if you wish, i am committed to crossing the finish line in whatever time it takes....it will not be quick!

Although i have started to put in the hours on the tracks and roads around southwest London the social demands of the build -up to Christmas  hampered my efforts. Since the new year i have slowly been increasing my training runs and am now up to 18 miles per longer run. Luckily the marathon will be quite late this year (April 26th) which gives me plenty of time to train but concerns me slightly if the temperature starts to climb by then. 

I have been accepted to run for Shelter who strike me as being a very worthy and supportive charity for the homeless. I have never asked any of you to support me by way of donating to a charity in the past, and indeed it is more than likely that this may be my one and only attempt to do so !

I have set myself an ambitious target of funds to raise, so please help if you can. I will be updating this page from time to time to let you know how the training is going.
