Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
1992 was the last charity cycle challenge completed with Tony Othen, photographed on the London to Brighton Bike Ride (number 14771) . We have now taken up the challenge by supporting Amnesty International including those working in Zimbabwe for women human rights.
The 2009 London to Paris Bike Ride is close on 300 miles cycling over four days including 95 miles on the first day to Dover, then 75 miles from Calais to Abbeville, 70 miles to Beauvais and then finally 60 miles to Paris. Perhaps this is slightly more of a challenge than originally anticipated, especially with all the hills in Kent and Northern France!!
Training commenced at the end of February, although the hill climbing through the Blackmore Vale appears to be a significant problem! . This is a great cause and I will not let anyone down especially those who need our help. I have left it at as late of possible to confirm whether or not the 3 month training programme in Somerset will be sufficient!
This ride takes place on the 3rd -6th June starting in Blackheath. Fully appreciating money is tight but please would you sponsor me. I would be grateful for any donations - big or small - it all adds up .
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Amnesty International UK Section Charitable Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
