Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I thought I would set myself an enormous challenge for next year and what better than the Virgin London Marathon!  I am fairly fit from riding horses and playing football but I don't think I realise the pain ahead of me.  I am lucky to be running with my best friend and fellow rider Daniel Timson.  Living only round the corner from each other we should be able to train together pounding the pavements of Billingshurst and beyond!

I am running for Spinal Research a charity I have worked closely with for a few years.  They are a fantastic charity hoping to one day find a cure for paralysis through their research into spinal cord repair.  I am an Ambassador for their Saddle Up Campaign which does terrific things in the equestrian world.  I know that riding is a high risk sport whether you just hack or compete at a high level in a discipline.  I have had many falls in my career but luckily have walked away with no long term injuries.  However there are plenty of people who are not so lucky and its them I am running for.  To get them walking again and back on a horse.
