UPDATE 27 APRIL 2009
GOOD NEWS
Made it all the way around the marathon route, despite taking a tumble just after half way. Crowds were fantastic and the atmosphere was great.
Many thanks to all my sponsors - looks like I have have hit my target amount - I will be sending out reminder emails shortly about donating on-line via this website.
Yours
Andy
Hello All!
Sound Seekers have just contacted me and, I am delighted to say that they have asked me to run the London marathon in aid of their very worthwhile charity. Having been involved in audiology for over 30 years, both on the "coal-face" and nationally, it is an honour to help them.
Sound Seekers (The Commonwealth Society for the Deaf) do great work in the developing Commonwealth countries. Have a look at their website at http://www.sound-seekers.org.uk/index.html (the projects and the case studies)
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Commonwealth Society For The Deaf gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Please sponsor me for the London Marathon 2009 - I have a target of £100 per mile of the marathon (26.2 miles) - dig deep - give generously - its for a good cause and its easy - pay by credit card (no pain for you - plenty of gain for children in Africa)
Great news, off-line sponsorship has significantly increased the total.
As the songs go I will be intending to "Keep on Running" then "hobble, hobble, hobble, hobble off and hit the hay"!
so please:
"Keep on Donating"
Yours in training - Andy
