The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Firstly, thanks for visiting my fundraising page, hopefully the following will inform you to my reasons for choosing Macmillan's Nurses as a very worthy cause for your donations.

Cancer affects many people in their lifetime, a recent statistic I heard stated that 1 in 3 people would be personally affected by some form of cancer during their lifetime.

Having lost a relative earlier this year to lung cancer, I felt the challenge I have agreed to do would be the best way to thank Macmillan Nurses for their time, effort and support during the final weeks of his life.

Without the donations from yourselves and others throughout the world, Macmillan Nurses would not be able to continue their invaluable support work helping those whose lives are affected by cancer, this is not only with the patient but also the immediate family.

My challenge is most commonly known as the 3 Peaks Challenge.
This involves climbing/walking to the 3 highest points in Scotland (Ben Nevis ~ 1344m), England (Scafell Pike ~ 978m) and Wales (Snowdon ~ 1085m) all within a 24 Hour consecutive period, including the travel time.
Each of these walks is achievable in a days outing, the challenge is to complete all 3 within the 24 hour time restraint.

The Intention is to Start the ascent up Ben Nevis approx 1730 on the 27th, followed by Sca-Fell Pike in the Lake Disctrict, early hours of the 28th and be back down Snowdon by 1730 on the 28th (Exactly 24 Hours later)

Thank you for reading this and thank you in advance if you can give me a donation. To pinch a well known slogan, every little helps.
