IFDS world multi-hull championship · 22 February 2008

The Foundation aims to promote boating attainable for all. People disadvantaged by youth age disability financial hardship or social circumstances are under-represented in the boating world. We give grants to fund the facilities needed to open doors to new participants and develop social capital

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RYA Sailability will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

I will be traveling to Cascais, Portugal on the 29th June for a week of training before competing in the International Federation of Disabled Sailors World Multi-Hull Championships. We will be racing offshore in 11 races over 5 days.

I am an above knee amputee following a motorcycle accident in 2000 and learnt to sail a year later. I have been selected by the RYA to train with the Paralympic squad and hope to compete at the 2012 paralympics in a multi-hull.

Sailing is one of the few sports where people can leave their disabilities on the quayside and regain a sense of achievement and independence on the water.  Only through your donations can RYA Sailability continue to support the clubs and groups around the UK which give sailing opportunities to thousands of disabled people each year.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
