On 29th August 2008 I will commence the 'Le Raid Pyrenean' cycle challenge in aid of the YHA's  breaks4kids fund.  The challenge is to cross the Pyrenees from the Atlantic ocean to the Med sea, a distance of 800 kms, crossing 28 cols on route, completing within 10 days.  The route includes some famous Tour de France cols.  I am an experienced cycle tourist having crossed the Alps and other ranges a number of times.  Le Raid Pyrenean is a demanding and exciting challenge which is deserving of your support. 

I will fly to Biarritz on 27th Aug and return from Perpignan airport on the 9th Sept.  I will stay at youth hostels and also do some wild camping to keep costs down.

I will be undertaking the challenge on a budget, covering all my own expenses, so 100% of donations will go to the Breaks4Kids fund.

I have previous experience of cycling in the mountains of the Alps, Pindos and Atlas ranges.
