Story

Down's Syndrome International Swimmer Andrew (Andy) Banks walked the 95 mile West Highland Way to raise funds for the Great Britain squad competing in the Downs Syndrome World Swimming Championships to be held in Taiwan in October 2010.

The Down Syndrome International Swimming Organisation (DSISO), whose moto is Ability not Disability, provides the opportunity for Down's Syndrome swimmers to compete at World class level. The GB squad needs to raise in the region of £50,000 to cover costs.

The walk was a major achievement for an individual with Downs Syndrome, however Andy is a remarkable young man, allthough more acquainted with being in the swimming pool, rose to the challenge  with a smile on his face to raise money for "his team". He was accompanied by his father, Keith, and his good friend Martyn Turner.
