Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have wanted to walk the Pennine Way since I was a boy; it's just taken about 35 years for me to get round to it! For anyone who doesn’t know, the Pennine Way is a 270-mile path that follows the spine of the Pennines from their start at Edale in Derbyshire, to their end at Kirk Yetholm in the Borders of Scotland. Only a handful of walkers venture out onto the Pennine Way to slog it out in winter, and hardly any of them walk from north to south, because that’s back into the prevailing wind, rain and snow. So that’s precisely what I and my best mate Chris plan to do. We will travel up to Scotland on March 1st 2013 and aim to make it back to Edale by Saturday 16th March. If enough money is raised, it will allow TYA to work with a group of disadvantaged kids in Yorkshire to get to experience a multi-day trail for themselves; although probably not the Pennine Way nor in winter! If you pledge a tenner or more to the cause, (and email me your house number and postcode), I promise I will send you a unique postcard taken by me during the walk using the tremendous ByPost App, to say thanks.
