Well I don’t know about you but Cancer is really starting to get me down, it seems to get hold of all the best people, all the people that matter in our life and hits so unexpectedly!

My Dad has just retired, gave up a long and hard living as a mechanic and has just started planning a long , active and well deserved “him time” when on a holiday of a lifetime he noticed he felt a little under the weather, when he returned home he visited the quack with his problem but can you believe, he was rather unsympathetically sent away with some “wind ease”!!!!!!!!! now he has a very significant tumour that is making him very unwell and has to endure a daily trip to the Queen Elizabeth hospital for radiotherapy along with chemotherapy .

WE NEED TO RAISE AWARNESS OF BOWEL CANCER, because if our local GP gets confused with the symptoms what hope have we of catching this and other cancers early???

I took up running as part of my “midlife crisis” a year or two ago and I have completed a few marathons and have asked you all in the past to sponsor me, but this time my run will take on a very personal feel ! Each painful step and every moment of self doubt that I experience during my personal marathon will be nothing compared to my Dads battle and the difficult and sometimes lonely steps he must take in the coming weeks………GOOD LUCK DAD XXXXXXXXXXXX we all love you and are there for you.
