"And the 2011 SPANA victim is..."

It's the third year in a row that SPANA's amazing donkey costume will be hitting the streets of London for the London Marathon. The 2011 victim is SPANA's Veterinary Director, Andy Stringer. Andy will be donning the 17kg costume in Silverstone for the half marathon on Sunday 6th March before taking on the big one in April.

Completing the marathon this way is a very graphic reminder of the enormous burdens that working animals have to carry every day of their lives and the distances they have to carry them. It’s true that many donkeys and mules have to complete a marathon every day of their working lives - Andy will have to do it just once.

SPANA's work would not be possible were it not for the generosity of our supporters so please give generously to support Andy's challenge. Every penny will be helping to save the lives of working animals worldwide and improve the lives of the people who depend on them.
