Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

Yes I know I'm not small, furry and cute so the photo is of Robbie as a puppy, much easier on the eye than me. He will be keeping me company as I trudge over the moors again whilst training for this years London Marathon. Poor Henry is too old and creaky, some would say  I am too,  for the volume of training reqiured, so its me and the dim wit dog for most of the way.

Thank you for to everyone who sponsored me for a whopping £2800 last year. It's very motivating reading your comments, insults and general banter, knowing that my efforts will benefit others. This year I have changed charities and am running for Sense, a charity that supports and campaigns for deafblind children and adults. I'm sure you would agree that even a small donation will make a difference to those Sense work with, what a difficult and challenging world it must be if you are unable to see and hear.

As for the trudging, well I'm unlikely to beat Huw's family marathon record of 3hrs and 40 mins, but will collapse in a large ungainly heap at the finish around the 3rhs and 50 mark, creaking like an old ships mast in a gale. I can promise to do my bit, so come on guys, sponsor me, or the puppy gets it.............
