Highland Cross is a 50 mile duathlon (walking or running 20 miles and cycling 30 miles) across Scotland from Kintail to Beauly. The event is organised by volunteers to raise funds for charities across the Highlands. Since 1983, over £6.6m has been raised and distributed in full to deserving causes.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

This is the 4th year in a row I've entered the Highland Cross, you might say I'm some what of a slow learner!!  So, on the 20th June I'll find myself on the start line wondering why I entered yet again!

For those who don't know, the Highland Cross is a 50 mile duathalon (20 miles running/walking and 30 miles cycling) which starts in Kintail on the west coast of Scotland and ends in Beauly, just outside Inverness.  The course takes me across Glen Affric and Strathglass, through some of the best scenery in the Highlands, although speaking from experience I'm not normally is a state to enjoy it!!!

Last year I completed the event in 5 hours 43 minutes, coming in 290th out of a field of 676.  I raised approx £1700 for the charity, this year I hope to do better in both!

This year I know we are all watching our pennies, however, it's even more important than ever to support charities and any donation which you can give, large or small, is gratefully recieved and will be put to good use.
