After many years of applying through the ballot, the organisers of the London Marathon have finally called my bluff, and given me a place for 2009 - oh dear !
I am running for The British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society (RP Fighting Blindness) which is a charity that has become well known to me since my mother developed RP about 10 years ago. RP is the name given to a group of diseases of the retina that leads to a progressive reduction in vision and blindness. Funds raised by the charity are used for research into the cause and eventual treatment of RP and practical help for those with the condition.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RP Fighting Blindness gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
