Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Thanks in particular to everyone who has supported me so far. Following an enforced stop at Rugby caused by an ankle injury I have since completed the section from Rugby to Edale without further problems. I now plan to walk the Pennine Way section in the last two weeks of July and then walk from Kirk Yethom to Fort William in short sections over the autumn and winter. I will complete the final section - the Cape Wrath Trail - in May next year. Please continue to donate if that was your original intention - MSF can make good use of the money. Check my blog at http://thousandplus.org for further updates. I will be walking from Dover to Cape Wrath - a distance of 1,054 miles starting at Easter 2008. The whole distance will be coverd on long-distance footpaths including all or part of: The North Downs Way, The Thames Walkway, The Grand Union Canal, The Limestone Way, The Pennine Way, St Cuthberts Way, The Leith Walkway, The Union Canal, The Kelvin Walkway, The West Highland Way and The Cape Wrath Trail (plus a few short bits of some others). More details about me and the walk at http://thousandplus.org , including a blog of my progress. I have two months leave to do this in, which means I have to average at least 17 miles a day. Once I am north of Watford I will be camping most evenings. I don't have motorised support for this walk so I will be carrying everything I need on my back - including my camping gear. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Many thanks to everyone who has contributed more than three times my original target - As promised now the 3,000 mark has been passed I will be doing the walk in a kilt! I still want you to keep donating as MSF will make good use of all the money it gets, so as an incentive I'll climb Ben Nevis (wearing the kilt) if sponsorship reaches 4,000 before I reach Fort William. The last time I climbed Ben Nevis in May it was still covered in snow so climbing it in a kilt has to be worth another thousand! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Médecins Sans Frontières UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support. Andy N
