Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I have chosen to raise money for this particular charity because I have a very close friend working for them. She has given me an insight into the charity and the true good that if does for terribly sick people from Children through to older aged adults. Knowing that the money actually reaches real people in real desperate situations makes giving money far more rewarding!

My friend has described the centre in Birmingham as a homely place made to make frightened, anxious people feel safe and welcome. From the first to the last visit this place has been designed, and is continually run, as a warm inviting environment to spend their time.

With this information in mind I decided that I had no choice but to try and raise some money. The fact that I had decided to set myself the challenge of completing an IRONMAN Triathlon in October seemed to co-inside nicely and give me a very good reason to make sure I finish.

For those that aren't aware its a 3.8km swim in the sea, 180km cycle followed by a 42km run (marathon).  Yes I have had my head examined and yes I was dropped as a child !  While I have a time in mind finishing is the main aim.

So I am requesting everyone digs deep and pledges as much as you can spare. We all say we give to charity, but most of us, if we are honest, mean to do so and only ever do when a chap like me waves a sponsor form in our face. Well on this occasion Please do it NOW... and what the heck double the donation you'd planned on. On the scale of things you'll have forgotten in a month anyways.

So go on, get your card out and help me do something wonderful.......................!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cure Leukaemia gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thanks

Andy Ridout
