Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The SAFC Foundation harnesseses the power of football and uses it to increase the motivation, educational attainment and personal skills of young people throughout the great region that is the North East. Still, while we've had much progression, my region is still rated highly in the indices of multiple deprivation and as a consequence has significant issues.
Low educational standards, lack of achievement and aspirations, areas with severe health needs, high youth disorder and many priority wards with economic deficiencies, are issues that the SAFC Foundation is trying to address with its unique programmes.
As you may be aware, Kate spent some time volunteering with the foundation earlier this year. She got the chance to go and see the great work they're doing, and importantly - the difference they are making for a wide range of people, regardless of the colour of their stripes. What she described was a passion to make a difference and a desire to help that she found inspiring. I was inspired by it - and I hope you are too.
So inspired that over the next two months I'll be running in Middlesbrough in a fun run, in Newcastle in the GNR, and in Kielder in a marathon. Seeing the region at its best.. from a road.. while sweating.
What I'm asking from you is a donation - because you can make a difference.
As you likely already know - donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
It’s an efficient way to donate whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Win. Win. Awesome.
