Andy was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his right femur in February 2008 at the age of 41. Since then he has had the primary tumour removed by replacing his right knee with a Titanium one and had six months of Chemotherapy. In November 2008 he had secondary tumours removed from both lungs. Andy had a course of Radiotherapy to his leg in January and his leg has since been declared tumour-free. Unfortunately, secondary tumours persist in both lungs so treatment continues. Despite only one charity's information appearing on this page, Andy would like to split all money raised between two charities. The exact percentage split is yet to be decided. As soon as this is known we'll update the page.

As this disease usually strikes young people and teenagers, Andy would like to give BCRT the help and support it deserves in order that it can give the best care and assistance to patients and their families. BCRT is a realtively young charity so it needs all the support we can possibly give.

Willen Hospice is Andy's local hospice. So far, Willen Hospice has provided excellent personal support to Andy and his family. Hopefully Andy won't need their services in the future but there are still many local people that get the sympathetic, professional asistance and care they need from Willen Hospice when Cancer strikes.

Andy's Angels is a loosely-knit team of runners that have pledged to run several races this year to support charities of Andy's choice. The series idea was created by Andy's good friend Stuart Pendred who felt he wanted to use something he enjoyed doing for a positive cause. The idea has grown to encompass the races that Andy's wife and sister will also run during the year, which so far total ten. There may be several more races added to the list as the year progresses.

If you would like to be a part of Andy's Angels (and have your very own AA running vest!) and help raise money for our charities then please get in touch and we'll get you involved. All we ask you to do is drive your own sponsors to this page.

Rather than ask you all to donate to each race, by donating through this page you will be sponsoring the series as a whole, no matter how many races there are in the end. That means that (hopefully) you may want to donate at the start and then decide to donate some more at the end of the series, depending on how much you think our effort is worth.
