A MASSIVE THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S FANTASTIC SUPPORT, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO BRAVED THE CROWDS TRACKSIDE!
With a 3 week layoff due to tendinitis in my knee, I was very concerned about finishing at all. Fortunately, some intensive physio, a last minute change in insoles, some lots of frozen peas and plenty of motivation from sponsors I made it to the start line.
I thought i'd give my 3hr target a good crack and went through the half marathon in 1h31. This proved unsustainable and a after a few walks in the closing 6 miles I crossed the line in 3hrs 19mins- a big relief! (Although I was beaten by a thunderbird I did beat Jordan and Gordon Ramsay)
I'm really pleased to have taken part- it was an amazing event and i'd encourage anyone who's never taken part/seen it live to get involved. The atmosphere all around the course was buzzing with vibe and emotion.
Again, a really big thanks to everyone from (a broken) Andy!
