Story
My daughter Beth, suffers from Rett Syndrome. Rett Syndrome is a complex neuorological disorder that affects mainly girls, it leaves sufferers with multilple disabilities and reliant on others for all their needs. As the Captain and Lady captain of Mersey Valley Golf and Country have chosen RSAUK as their charity for the year I thought I'd help them raise money by taking on two challenges.
We completed The 3 Peaks Challenge on June 10/11 in 18hrs 50 mins. The challenge was to climb to the top of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon and drive in-between in under 24 hours. Once we started Ben Nevis at 6.15 pm the clock was ticking, we were all happy to finish at 1.05 pm the next day at the bottom of Snowdon.
The second challenge has also now been done. We started at Mersey Valley Golf and Country Club at 10.00am on Sunday 9th August and finished at 10.00pm on Monday 10th, lots of blisters later. We managed to get through 151 holes. It was extremely tough physically but even more so mentally, sleep deprivation sends you loopy! It was made easier by the wire getting to Wembley the day before :) and Lee Briers brought us a flag for the buggy on Monday afternoon which gave us a boost.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RETT syndrome Association UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now! Thanks for visiting.
