It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Joshua is 9 years old and is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia for a second time.  Joshua suffered a relapse in October last year after being in remission since 2010.  His journey began in June 2007 when Joshua complained of an earache. Doctors were convinced at first that it was a simple infection and could be treated with antibiotics. When his symptoms became worse, he was finally referred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where his parents were told the devastating news that he was suffering from leukaemia. But there was hope and the doctors said he would need three years of treatment so he would get into remission.

He began Chemotherapy (again!) on 30 Jan 13. This now involves chemo  and a bone marrow / lumar puncture once every 5 weeks.  This routine will continue for 12 months. He never complains and just smiles through it.  If you can spare some money and help Joshua and other children at Birmingham Childrens Hospital it will be appreciated.
