Story
In April 2011 I'm going to attempt to get to the top of Mera Peak in Nepal (altitude 6,500m). This is, undoubtedly, going to be the most demanding thing I have ever attempted both mentally and physically.
In April 1995 I lost my mother to cancer and in September last year my father was diagnosed with cancer. Therefore I would like to raise money for Marie Curie cancer care who do excellent work in caring for people with cancer and researching the treatment of cancer.
My motives for climbing the mountain are for challenging my own limits as a person which is something I know my parents would approve of. My motivation for raising money for Marie Curie is because it would be a shame to waste all that effort and not make a positive difference to people who are or may find themselves in the same situation as me and my family.
For those wishing to follow my progress or just get a more detailed account of just how much suffering I'm putting myself through you can follow my blog.
