British 10K London Run 2009 · 12 July 2009 ·

Acid violence is a particularly vicious form of premeditated violence, where acid is thrown usually at the face to disfigure, maim and blind, but not to kill. We provide medical expertise and training to 6 partner organisations, raise valuable funds to support survivors and help to change laws.

Story

I'm running The Great British 10K on 12th July for ASTI, a charity that does some incredible work in supporting the survivors of acid attacks.

ASTI's main focus is setting up Acid Survivors Foundations in countries where acid attacks are prominent. These units help victims gain access to medical care, the legal system, rehabilitation (including education and skills-training to find employment) and campaigns against future attacks.

Please support ASTI with me - every little little bit really does help.

Thank you all,

Aneesa!
