I'm running another half-marathon (my second ever) in October. But this time the reason for it is closer to home - or rather, work.

Earlier this year, a colleague was diagnosed with bowel cancer. She's only 26 years old.

To show our support, nine of us from The Writer are running the Run to the Beat half-marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support. Several of my teammates have never run more than 5 or 10k before, so it really is a huge effort from everyone involved.

If you could spare a few pounds (or dollars, or rands), we'd really appreciate it.
