(00 DAYS TO GO... 340 MILES IN TRAINING)
(Posted on 30 Apr) I completed the 2009 Flora London Marathon in 3 hours, 59 minutes and 23 seconds. I managed to knock 2 minutes and 46 seconds off my previous best time, and achieved my goal of an under-4 hour marathon by a very tight 37 second margin. Rarely have 37 seconds seemed sweeter...
*The marathon is over, but the fundraising never stops. This page will continue to take donations until July 26th, so please spread the word...

Dear friends, queridos amigos-
On April 26 I will be running the London Marathon once again.
As in previous years, I have committed myself to raising funds for TASK Brasil, the charity that supports children and teenagers living on the streets of Rio de Janeiro.
This will be my fourth marathon. I hope to beat my own record by finishing in under four hours. I also hope to improve on earlier fundraising efforts.
You can help me to help TASK Brasil by sponsoring me (i.e. making a donation) on this web-page (don't forget to leave a message on the sponsors' list). The support of friends and family will keep me going though the final weeks of training.
Donating through this site is quick, easy and secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: TASK Brasil gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, it gets an extra 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement (at no extra cost to you).
All you need is a valid credit card. The minimum donation is £2.00 ($3.00), so your contribution doesn't have to break the bank. If you can afford to give generously, please do. It's all for a good cause.
My specific goal this year is to reach the end of the 26.2 miles without the drama of last year's race. (You can find my report for the 2008 marathon at http://www.justgiving.com/angelgurriaquintana)
Don't forget to visit this site again for news and training updates. And spread the word...
If you know someone who might be interested in supporting a good cause; if you know someone who thinks doing a marathon is an effort worth rewarding; or if you know someone who believes that running in lycra in front of thousands of spectators deserves some kind of recognition...tell them about this page!
Thanks! ¡Gracias!
Ángel
