After my efforts in the Great North Swim in 2011, I'm now following in my father's footsteps and running in the 2012 Virgin London Marathon on 22 April 2012. I'm raising money for the UK's leading charity dedicated to raising awareness and funding research to fight brain tumours, Brain Tumour UK.   My dad Mark “Jezz” Braithwaite was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour which has been hard going for all the family, but he continues to show inspiring courage under fire and that’s really why I want to do this - I believe it is vital to raise as much as possible to seek new breakthroughs and improve outcomes for people affected by brain cancer. Can I beat Dad’s sub 4 hour marathon PB as well? I doubt it, but I’ll give it a go!   As well as seeking sponsorship I am also undertaking a couple of other fundraising activites to help reach the minimum sponsorship required by BTUK.
