TAA DAAA.
Now try to tell me, you weren't expecting this...
I think its because I'm Angela Jhanji,
in my third year studying Politics at the University of Nottingham
and also Youth Trustee for UK Youth,
whilst working for Nottingham City Council,
with a number of other international responsibilities,
AND generally insane that...
I'm running the London Marathon 2010!
Now whether you think its impressive or just plain crazy, I'm running it for an amazing charity called UK Youth, for which I also sit on the board of Trustees. As a leading youth work charity, it promotes non-formal education and works in helping develop young people to reach their potential. I personally, have a lot to owe to UK Youth for all of the opportunities I have been presented with and been able to utilize. Hence, not only is it an honor being co-opted back onto the board, but 2010 is also our Centenary Year entitled "Positive About Youth". If it all goes my way - which I will make sure it does, 2010 should be a year to remember. Graduating, supporting UK Youth with the Centenary, turning 21 and running the London Marathon.
But before we all run down to wonderful London Town to watch me, I have a request. I've got to raise £2,000 before April 25th and need your help. Obviously if I could fundraise smoothly and efficiently, it would make focusing on training that much easier. Remember that 26.2 miles is a LONG distance, but you'll also be sponsoring me for the vast numbers of training hours I'm putting in already. A pound a mile would be amazing! Obviously any donation - big or small, is very much appreciated and will bring me that much closer, so please donate generously.
Just on a side note, in case any of you are doubtful - I am being intensely trained by my PT on a regular basis. I'm training 6 days a week and mileage is steadily increasing. I, also seem to be finding that talking to myself gets boring after about mile 4. No, really.
Thank you all for taking the time to check this out. I honestly can't be more appreciative of all the support I have be given and am still showered with. I am just a reflection of all the amazing people, organizations and mentors that I'm constantly surrounded by and I wouldn't want it any other way.
I shall keep you all updated!
Angela
