Last year I ran/walked the marathon and I can honestly say although so hard it was one of the best days of my life. So in that mad moment afterwards I decided to sign up again. I think like childbirth I must have forgotten all that pain. Those 16 weeks hard training in the snow, sleet and rain. Those blisters, those early mornings. It is especially hard sometimes as I have lupus and sometimes my joints ache so much. But I did not forget the children I will be helping.
Last year I ran in memory of the beautiful gorgeous Justin who passed away at The Children's Trust aged 5. It was a privilege to run with his parents . At the time I thought surely if they can get up every morning and put on a brave face then surely I can run 26.2 miles.
This year I am running the London Marathon in celebration of the thousands of children with profound disabilities I have made a difference to in the the last 10 years of being the fundraising manager at the Trust. I have seen so many incredibly brave children and I am sure some of you know I am so passionate about the charity. www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk . As part of my 2010 challenges I will also be running the BUPA 10k, British 10k and Royal Half Marathons in aid of the Trust
