Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Monday 8th June 2009

We did it!  Yesterday the three of us took part in the Two Castles 10km run from Warwick Castle to Kenilworth Castle.  We arrived at Warwick Castle at about 8.15am just as the heaven's opened and we got absolutely soaked through and had to stand around freezing cold and wet until the start at 9am!  We soon warmed up though once we started.  The route itself is very pleasant however there were a few hilly bits which were a bit of a challenge!!  We got through it though and Dennis crossed the finish line in 57 minutes, whilst Cath and I were a little slower and came in at 67 mins.  Really pleased with that time as our previous 10km time was 76 mins!!

Looking forward to the Coventry Fun Run now!!!

Tuesday 12th May 2009.  We have completed the first of our runs - The Knowle Fun run.  Unfortunately, Dennis was unable to take part on the day, but Cath and I completed the 5 miles in 57 minutes and 19 seconds, a time that we are very pleased with.  Still a bit achey but we'll be back out there training on Thursday in preparation for the Two Castles 10k in 4 weeks.  in the meantime thank you to everyone who's sponsored us so far.

Angie, Cath & Den.

As well as the event listed above, the Two Castles 10k on 7th June 2009,  We are also taking part in another event on 10th May 2009.  This event is the Knowle 5 mile Fun Run (not sure about the fun bit!!), and any sponsorship money that we raise for this event will be paid into this fundraising page and will be sent to Breast Cancer Care.

Once again, Angie is going to making plenty of delicious cakes for you all to enjoy in return for a donation towards this charity.  The first cake sale is to be held at Angie's work on Monday 23rd February.  If you don't get the chance to buy a cake you can always donate via this site.

We have chosen this charity as last summer Den's Mum, Cynthia, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  It came as a complete shock to everyone, but luckily it has been caught early and she is doing well.  Sadly, not everyone is as lucky as Cynthia but with your donations you can help us make a difference to those affected by Breast Cancer.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Breast Cancer Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
