About our charity : RSPCA - National Society RSPCA - National Society
The RSPCA helps more animals than any one else in the UK. Working in practical animal welfare, law enforcement, education and campaigning for change to improve the lives of all animals, it employs experts in every field that benefits animals, from cruelly treated pets to rescued fledglings. All money raised through Justgiving for the National Society will go into RSPCA general funds and once in there will not be redistributed to any other source.

Our personal message:

OMG, I must be mad

My husband, Tony, ran the Great North Run in 2007 and I went along to watch him. The whole event and atmosphere really inspired me to have a go and so, here I am.

Everyone who knows me, knows my love for my Weimaraner, Vinnie and my adopted stray Husky, Summer. I also have a few stray cats that I feed and who permanently sit on my window sill.

So, the natural choice of my charity is the RSPCA. I really want to support their excellent work. One of their associated partners is the Sociedad Protectora de Animales y Plantas de Granada in Fuente Vaqueros, which is close to where I live in Spain and where I adopted Summer from.

So, thank you for visiting my fundraising page and please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RSPCA - National Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

I shall be updating my page regularly with details of my progress so keep watching!

 Love Angie

30 April -  My first 12 week programme began on 21 April. I have done 5 runs so far which average out at about 3 miles. The fastest I have run it so far is 27 minutes which I am pleased about. The run back into my village is a killer hill  but it hasn't beat me yet. I would like to do it without wheezing though!!

11 May - I have run my first 5 miler today. I did it in 50 minutes, 45 seconds, which I am pleased with. I would have liked to have done it under 50 mins but there are so many hills in Moclin so I can forgive myself!!

27 August - 5 weeks to go until the Great North Run. Where has all that time gone?

So far, I have run an 11.5k competition race in 1 hour and 5 mins and a 10k competition race in 59 mins.  I was quite pleased with those times and I didn't come last!

But this is when the miles start to ramp up. I'm a bit nervous to say the least, particularly as I've had a few injuries just lately and my knees are starting to ache.

The term ' never again! ' springs to mind.
