I'm absolutely rubbish at running but I am getting maginally better. Last year I finished number 9996 out of 15 000 which is not particularly good especially as that includes the people dressed as a chicken. This year I'm hoping to reach the heady heights of the 8000s.
The British Red Cross does lots of good work. Some of it makes the front pages such as the response to the Tsunami. Some of it - loaning wheelchairs, helping people with disfigurements, tracking and tracing lost family members does not - but its all vitally important. Its what gets me out of bed and round the park on a Saturday morning.
