·          Why am I doing a marathon?

I used to be very fat. I had man boobs. I drank too much and committed to excess far too regularly. People started commenting on my weight. Men started giving me flirtatious looks. I had to act fast.

·          The dream

Then something happened. I dreamt about a man. That man was me. In the dream he was running from a panda. The panda's name was Monotony. The panda chased me until I had nowhere to run. When cornered, he stated, "You will spend your whole life running away from me."

When I awoke, it made me think. Life can be monotonous. Therefore, I decided to do something different with my time. Something that would make me feel as if I was using my efforts more productively.

·          The Act

The meaningful act was to run. This run will last 27 miles and aims to raise some money for a worthwhile charity (Meningitis UK ). This is a fantastic charity that is close to my heart. My aim is to raise approximately £3000.

Running the marathon would also mean losing some of the excess weight around my waist and chest.

·          Why should you give me any money?

Those who know me will be entertained by the thought of me running such a distance. Remember, this act is for a just cause. I do not mind whether you cheer me for the effort or just due to my man boobs. 

I just want you to give me some of your dough.

The more you give, the more your conscience will be subdued.

Giving money to charity makes you feel happier, makes you cleverer, better looking and much cooler.
