Pretty Muddy Guildford 5K 2016 11:15 · 25 June 2016 ·

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Pretty Muddy Race for Life this year. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring me - it's quick, easy and totally secure.

I've know Claire (far right front row of pic, I'm far left front row) since we were 5 years old. We went to the same primary and secondary schools and through Brownies and Guides together. She is  officially the best Centre I have ever played in a netball team with.

When we were at secondary school, cancer took her mum. Claire bravely soldiered on, creating a great career and family of her own. Now cancer's having another go at her. Earlier this year she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing chemo, followed by surgery and then radiotherapy.  With an amazing husband and two beautiful young boys, Claire has a lot to fight for.

A group of Claire's friends are getting together to do Pretty Muddy to show our support during this horrible time.

Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.

Don't forget to add Gift Aid

If you're a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no extra cost to you.

Sponsor me now, and help me show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink.
