Hi My name is Ann-Marie, I've set up this page to raise funds for the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer in memory of my husband David Beecroft.

He was diagnosed with stage IV Kidney Cancer in April 2008 and died July 15th 2010. He was an amazing life force and taught me to enjoy every moment and never be a victim of whatever life throws at you. He lived a life of no regrets and enjoyed every moment and had such a positive outlook that if I can continue on with this zest for life and do something positive with it, then I feel his death will not be in vain.

So, with a group of friends I am going to do the coast to coast bike ride May 28th over 4 days. Actually, it's going to be the coast to coast to coast, starting and ending in Tynemouth where I live. All together there will be about 14 cyclists including myself. These are friends of mine who have volunteered to do this mad ride but whom I hope will love every moment of it, even the most difficult hills!!!! I'm lost for words by their generosity of time and effort to do this ride with me and to honour the memory of my darling hubby. He was an amazing guy and would have totally loved to have done this ride. So I'm taking along some of his ashes and riding his beloved Klein bike and that way, he'll be there, as always.
