Some have accused us of being mad and having a mid life crisis, well maybe both are true, but we are determined to run the marathon and raise loads of money for our chosen charities.

Lisa's story
I took up running 7 years ago because my mate Ian challenged me, "Anyone can run" he said. I suppose you could say he was right as I dragged myself off the sofa and had a go. Now I can run, the question is just how far? Well, it's time to find out because on April 25th I'm running the London Marathon with my friend Anna.

Let me tell why Woking Hospice is one of my chosen charities.
In June last year I lost my Uncle Lawrie to an illness he bore with courage and dignity. His absence is still hard to comprehend and I miss him dearly but we are all grateful for the care and support he and his family received from Woking Hospice. The Hospice staff were nothing short of amazing and it saddens me to hear they are so short of funds to continue their work. Uncle Lawrie was also a marathon runner and so I am relying on his memory and spirit to help me round those 26 miles! I hope my efforts over the next few months will be a fitting tribute to him. Anna's story
I have always had a secret burning ambition to run the london marathon since taking up running with Lisa seven years ago. I was delighted when Woking Hospice offered me a place to run for the them and feel really privileged to be raising money to support all the great work they do caring for the terminally ill. I certainly wouldn't be able to do it without the continued support and motivation from my running buddy Lisa ( I'll buy you a beer when it's all over).
