Hey everyone,
Unfortunately I've got a little crack in my right shin and won't be able to run the marathon this year. Can't express how devastated I am, especially with my training going so well. But, I will be running it next year for HEART UK and teamredlaces so anything that has been/is being donated now will go towards my pledged sum for 2009.

Just been to the physio today and it looks like I might have a stress fracture on my leg. I won't know a 100% until I've had a bone scan but thought I'd let you know on this page.
If worse comes to worse I'll push my place with HEART UK forward until next year, but I'll keep you updated.

In less than 6 weeks, on April 13th I’m running my first marathon, the Flora London Marathon for H.E.A.R.T UK and Teamredlaces.
My boyfriend Dion’s dad died of a sudden heart attack at the age of 51. Like so many other people he should have lived a lot longer. Sadly cardiovascular disease and inherited high cholesterol (IHC) are affecting a lot of people and families in the world, but there are many lives that can be saved by an early diagnosis, lifestyle changes and the appropriate medication. This is where H.E.A.R.T UK comes into the picture with their committed work to creating awareness, better detection for those at risk, funding research into improved treatment and not the least, support for families who have already been diagnosed.
I've been wanting to do this for ages and I'm absolutely thrilled but also a little bit scared. However, knowing that it'll contribute to helping saving lives and families is fantastic and it will help keep my feet moving through the 42km (26 miles) on the actual day.
Every pound that you give will help keep young hearts running so please dig deep and help me reach my target. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure and if you’re a UK taxpayer an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
