Virgin Active London Triathlon 2013 · 27 July 2013 to 28 July 2013 ·

Imperial College London is a global top ten university with a world-class reputation in science, engineering, business and medicine. Please note: the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative is now an independent charity. Imperial College London can no longer accept donations to SCI.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The triathlon involves swimming 1.5km, cycling 40km and then running 10km.

I'm raising money for Imperial's Schistosomiasis Control Initiative (SCI). The charity treats children and at-risk adults in sub-Saharan Africa for schistosomiasis and soil transmitted helmiths (whipworm, hookworm and roundworm). Treatment helps prevent anaemia, impaired development and development of life-threatening conditions such as bladder cancer, kidney malfunction, liver and spleen damage.

SCI needs as little as 50p per person per year, to deliver treatments in Africa.

Money donated to the SCI makes a real difference, it's one of GiveWell's top charities:

So please dig deep and donate.
