Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Our family really appreciates the help and support that the Trust offers. In an attempt to repay this in some small way I have accepted the China Challenge, which takes place in Auguat 2008. I would like to raise a whopping £5000 to indicate just how much we value them.
I have never done anything like this before so I am rather apprehensive. I cannot imagine raising such a large sum but fortunately I have given myself plenty of time and I have lots of ideas (this being one of them). I hope to round off my efforts with a barn dance in the village hall on Saturday 5th July 2008. I hope as many of you as possible will come and celebrate with me. Thie organizing of this is now seriously underway. If you would like information or tickets for the event plese e-mail me at anna.sharpe@lineone.net.
As for the trek, it is because of the dogs that I have decided to accept the challenge. Though I already walk with them around the village and over the surrounding fields, I am slow. I need to increase my speed and distance. No doubt they will enjoy helping me with my training, especially if we go to new places in our motorhome. If you see me out and about please say hi. Needless to say they wil not be accompanying me on the challenge. Will I be able to do it without them?! After attending an information day I realized that I need to do some serious training to cope with the many 1000 of steps that we will have to climb. Fortunately Elite Fitness and Leisure Centre in Emerson Green have agreed to help me. In May I go for my first test a weekend walking in the Brecon Beacons.
I need the help, support and encouragement of you all if I am to succeed, I cannot do it on my own. As you can see from the total so far already many people have helped. I would like to mention Sam North of the NEC who allowed me to collect at the October motorhome and caravan show, Angela of Somers Wood who found me a patch of land to park up my motorhome at night. Of course not forgetting all those who made my collection tin heavier.
Some companies have been generous enough to sponsor me. They are Bayliss Transport, Segro (Stroud Enterprises), Ashfield YOI, and Emerson Green Veterinary Surgery, Mr Windows in Pucklechurch, Cory Environmental among others. I also have to mention the Star Inn at Pucklechurch as this year the Meningitis Trust is the nominated charity of their Christmas raffle. The draw took place on 23 Dec and I raised the magnificant asum of over £350. Sainsburys in Emerson Green have been most supportive. Then in June and July Ruby and I will be collecting in Bath by doind some busking (she will be doing the tricks).
If you can't get to Pucklechurch donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Meningitis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
