Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising site. In November Keith and I are doing a trek in aid of Quarriers, the charity I work for. For more information on Quarriers, please visit their website - www.quarriers.org.uk
We'll be climbing to Everest basecamp with a group of 15 people and we have agreed to raise the lofty sum of £3000 each. We've already paid a contribution of £399 each towards the total cost......this is where you come in....yep, thats right, we are asking for money!!
Every little helps, so shake out those penny jars and get donating. And for everyone who donates there'll be a postcard stamped in Kathmandu coming your way...oooh yeah!!!
now for the small print...
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Quarriers will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Thanks for taking the time, Ann & Keith
Just a wee update on our fundraising efforts since we created this page. We've been involved in a few activities recently, most of which involve standing someplace cold holding a bucket and looking worthy of loose change.
On Sunday 23rd March, we raised £260 at the Blochairn car boot sale in Glasgow. A big thanks goes to the organisers of the car boot sale who gave us our space free of charge and Weir Engineering Services who supplied the van to transport all the donated goods. Big thanks goes to all those who donated their "sellable junk"!
A couple collections outside Partick Thistle football grounds have helped raise £285 and £387. Thats a total of £672 from the Partick Thistle fans!
We organised a club night of music and dancing in the Admiral Bar in Glasgow on May 2nd which brought in £1,108. A successful little earner!! The Admiral bar, on Waterloo street, gave us the venue free of charge. Lots of people donated brilliant prizes and it was a great night, if not a little stressful for us!
Thanks goes to the following people/ companies who donated raffle prizes: Jurys Inn, Glasgow;Holiday Inn, East Kilbride; Glenfiddich Whisky;Revival Retreat, Byres Road;Swarovski Crystal;Opal Moon; Christo's; A Fond Kiss; Jades Hair Salon; Roastit Bubbly Jocks; Grosvoner Cinema; Alan & Liz who donated a mobile phone and a Ryobi drill set
A couple of collections at the Oakmall in Greenock helped raise £224 and £90.
We had a stall at the Quarriers Gala day selling painted flower pots, crochet hats, plants and more goodies, adding another £83.50.
Weir Engineering Services kindly donated £400 to our cause.
