Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! Once again I am raising some money for charity to honor my beautiful mother, Ann Dittrich, who sadly passed away August 17, 2006. Last year, I took a walk for Marie Curie Cancer Care. This year, I have decided to kick things up a notch and I'm going to throw myself off the Silver Jubilee Bridge!
On the 14th of September, i am going to take part in an abseil where I will descend from the bridge that connects the town of Widnes (where Mom is from and where I now live) and Runcorn. It is the largest bridge of its kind in the UK and is 86 metres (282 feet) above sea level and crosses over the Mersey River. (Some of you may remember a little diddy made famous by Gerry and the Pacemakers called "Ferry Cross the Mersey" in 1964, which reached #6 on the US charts.)
So there's a little history and background information for you! 100% of donations will go towards the Red Cross. I know times are tight on both sides of The Pond but please donate any amount you can, even a couple of bucks will help me reach my goal. Thanks for your time and consideration and most of all... thanks for keeping Mom's spirit with us always.
With love,
Jayne
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Red Cross gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
