UPDATE ON MY TRIP TO PERU

You will be delighted to know that the trip was an outstanding success. The work at KIMO was taxing and rewarding and also the chance to meet and work with children in hostels in Lima and at Urubamba was quite amazing. I was able to see first hand the difference which the input of the Vine Trust and your money is making now and in the future for KIMO.

I also had the privilege and the truly uplifting experience of going to Macchu Pichu and it truly is one of the Wonders of the World.

I am currently preparing a belated blog of what I did and how your money is being used for Kimo. I will post it to you all in the next few weeks, when I get access to all my photos which are in Glasgow. Hope that you are all well and having a good summer!

Meanwhile, thank you all for your support in money , in thoughts and wishes and in prayers. I thought of you all , as I worked with these beautiful children and brought  news and evidence of your kindness and generosity into their lives.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Anne

I am joining a work party from St Paul's Milngavie and we are going to Peru in June 2009 (for 2 weeks) to help build a hostel for the street children of Kimo , a location 8 hours by bus from Lima- over the Andes and into mountainous jungle. The aim of this project is to provide an integrated program to help the street children there develop like normal children; to grow up in a safe and trusted environment; to have food, clothes and clean drinking water; to have self-esteem; in short to have many basics in life which we all take for granted. I shall be doing physical work,  e.g,clearing ground ,making bricks and hammering nails as the hostel takes shape and there is the opportunity to work with the education teams for the street children who are a most traumatised and marginalised people.

I am paying for all expenses, flights, insurance, immunisations and equipment myself and this will cost over £2000. Anything which you donate therefore will go straight to the VIne Trust and help build a better future for these children, many of whom are the victims of brutal violence, sexual exploitation, abject neglect, substance abuse and human rights violations.

Your help and support means so much to me..............but so much more to them.

PLEASE HELP ME REACH MY TARGET! I have already reached £3000 but have extended it now and am hoping that I shall be able to keep going , as every extra £1 is worth so much more to the work of the VIne Trust.

We are all set to leave on the 29 June, flying to Lima and it is quite exciting !

So PLEASE sponsor me now! Thanks again!
