I am looking forward to the Icelandic Lava Trek which is going to be a very tough four day challenge but will I hope, be very rewarding as all money collected will go to a local charity 'The Meningitis Trust'.

This is a very worthy charity and one that I have supported for a long time. My youngest son, Joshua (now almost 17 years old) was seriously ill with meningitis as a very young baby and spent over a week in intensive care. He made a full recovery thanks to the awareness of our Doctor in Lancashire and the medical team at Lancaster Hospital. Joshua was the first case of meningitis in the GP's practice and local area.
