Story
This month I am planning to join a team of cycling enthusiasts for 10 days to cross Damaraland, one of the most beautiful desert landscapes in Africa. For 7 days, 6 hours a day we will be cycling in this north Western Kunene region of Namibia which is part of the ancient Namib Desert and home to a third of Africa's dwindling black rhino population.
The goal of the cycle ride is to raise funds for Save the Rhino Trust (SRT), an indigeneous Namibian NGO whose aim is to protect the critically
endangered black rhino and other local wildlife, to conserve the landscape and promote a future for the local tribal communities.
Proceeds will go directly towards building an education centre for the local communities, implementing natural resource management programmes, environmental education programmes, anti-poaching patrols and research.
Since beginning their research and monitoring in the 1980s SRT has
overseen a 200% increase in rhino numbers. There are now 3600 of these
magnificent animals in existence.

Please be as generous as you can. Your contribution will help to ensure this important work continues to support the conservation of this beautiful landscape, the survival of this incredible animal along with the preservation of local Namibian culture in the region.
Many thanks for your support!
