Story
WELL I DID IT. Thank you to everyone for your support, the 3 charities from our group travelling to India for the cycle ride raised around £300,000 so it was worth all the injuries, muscle aches, tummy bugs and many more things I won't go in to. I loved every minute of the challenge (even the big fall off the bike over the handlebars) and I am looking for my next challenge now!!! So watch this space. Thank you again for your support, I have some amazing friends and family xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
***Thank you so much to everyone that has supported me with the fundraising. As you can see, I have hit my target and I am over the moon!!! I still want to continue raising money so please donate online or via a paper sponsor form. Thank you again to you all, you are wonderful people and these 3 cancer charities will be very grateful for every penny you have donated. Love you all xxx *** In October 2012 I am tackling a 450km cycle ride across India. The ride will be exciting, challenging, exhausting but most of all - rewarding! I will be part of a team of women raising money for 3 cancer charities – Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Trust with other fundraising monies supporting The Christie’s Hospital in Manchester.
I need to raise a minimum of £2800 to support the above charities and I am going to be organising a number of events to ensure I do this as well as asking for the kind support of friends, families, colleagues etc.
Cancer has touched the lives of many of us whether this is personally or with family members. When my mum was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago, I found that I was completely helpless in relation to helping her get better, but raising money for cancer charities and The Christie’s Hospital is a way in which I feel that I can help towards fighting this disease. My mum has been a massive inspiration to me and shown me how you can cope and tackle things if you remain both strong and positive. When the going gets tough whilst training for this challenging ride, and on the ride itself, I will just need to think of my mum’s courage and strength in fighting her cancer.
So please dig deep and sponsor me – even if its pennies. Thank you so much for your support and let’s hope your donation’s can go towards all those lovely people out there that are facing a challenge with cancer every day.
Thank you again, love Anne-Marie
